After Guy Manning's success with his mostly solo album Tall Stories For Small Children (CYCL 078), it has persuaded him to get his own group together. Along with Po90 man Andy Tillison on keyboards and long time friends Jonathan Barrett on bass and Simon Buskind on drums he has augmented the sound of symphonic keyboards with two violinists and a saxophone player. Much more upbeat than Tall Stories, this is an epic concept in three acts and recalls Pink Floyd/Roger Waters, Genesis and, of course, Po90. The band have worked on this piece for long periods to polish the instrumental breaks with great keyboard and guitar interplay. Look out for the threatened gigs soon. From Guy Manning is born the group MANNING. (Cyclops). Originally released in October 2000 and long since deleted, this is the 10th Anniversary Edition - remastered with a bonus track, packaged in a card slipcase.
