ALBUM REVIEW
In 1972, in Italian cinemas a noir movie was released, written and directed by Fernando Di Leo, with Gaston Moschin, Barbara Bouchet, Mario Adorf, Philippe Leroy and many other actors: Milano Calibro 9 (now re-evaluated by Quentin Tarantino). The soundtrack was entrusted to Italian all-famous prog band Osanna in collaboration with the compositions and the fantastic conduction of the Argentine maestro Luis Enriquez Bacalov (Oscar winner for The Postman). Forty years after that album titled Preludio, Tema, Variazioni e Canzona, Osanna celebrate the exclusive movie Milano Calibro 9, with a tribute concert and with the release of a new record entitled Rosso Rock: a live recorded in Japan at the Auditorium City Club Kawasaki on the 6 and 7 November 2011 and performed for the first time live with the new lineup consisting of: guitar and lead vocals, Lino Vairetti; Gennaro Barba on drums, Nello D'Anna on bass, electric guitar Pako Capobianco, Sasa Priore on the piano, organ and keyboards, and Irvin Vairetti on mellotron, synths and vocals. The concert, which saw onstage the Strings orchestra from Japan: Tokyo Vielle Ensemble, was recorded and released strictly live in stereo and published without any changes or editing. Besides the traces of the concert Live in Japan from Milan Calibro 9 (Preludio, Tema, Variazioni and There Will Be Time, Osanna wanted to give their fans and all fans of rock, three bonus tracks recorded in study with the inclusion of a string ensemble from Naples directed by Gianluca Falasca, recorded between April and May 2012: the song Fiume from their LP Landscape of Life from '73, and two new unreleased songs O Culore ' e' Napule (dedicated to the city of Naples highlighting its strengths and weaknesses), and Rosso Rock, which contains a tribute to Peter Hammill, Van Der Graaf Generator leader, with a quote from his song The Light Continent. The work is dedicated to the memory of Sergio Bardotti (which in 1972 was the producer and the real soul of the recording project related to Milano Calibro 9) and to the little Samuel Vairetti, born in 2012, as a witness in continuity, the future of rock music.
