AUSTRALIS is a current Chilean instrumental Progressive rock band led by ENTRANCE's guitarist Richard PILNIK and CRISALIDA's drummer Rodrigo SANCHEZ. Founded in the year 2003, the band endeavours to play a modern Progressive rock strongly influenced with jazz-rock fusion, space-rock and symphonic heavy-metal. This results in "Terraustralis", a kind of successful hybrid between PLANET X, UK and Steve VAI. Released as a joint-venture by the Musea and Mylodon labels in 2005, this first album includes nine tracks that are unified under a spatial and futuristic concept, which will take the listener to the far limits of possible things. Here is undoubtedly one of the best promises of the local scene, although the latter does not lack them! (Musea)
