An artistic collective who combined folk, experimental music, and politically charged poetry, Conventum was isolated at the vanguard of Quebec music, only realizing after their dissolution their similarities with avant-garde European groups such as Henry Cow, This Heat, and Stormy Six. Beautiful but challenging, the two albums by Conventum (reissued with large booklets and plenty of bonus material) remain on the cutting edge almost thirty years after their original release.
